Check out Our new blog[A Divine Start to 2026 — Vajragad Fort Dattatreya Temple & Soulful Food at Dakshina katha]]
⭐😇✨
The very first day of 2026 began with blessings, serenity, and an overwhelming sense of peace — in the calming presence of Dattatreya Bhagwan at the beautiful hilltop temple on Vajragad Fort, Vasai West.
The pathway to the temple winds gently uphill, surrounded by trees and refreshing natural views. As we walked towards the top, the breeze felt cool and comforting, and the landscape opened up into a stunning, majestic panorama. The moment we reached the temple, a sense of stillness and divine calm washed over us. The atmosphere was soothing, grounding, and spiritually uplifting — a truly blissful way to welcome the new year.
Standing there in quiet reflection, with nature on all sides and the presence of Dattatreya Bhagwan before us, felt sacred and deeply healing. It was one of those moments where time slows down — where the heart feels light, the mind feels calm, and gratitude takes over.
After darshan, we continued the day on a soulful and comforting note with food that felt just as pure and heart-warming as the experience.
Our next stop was Dakshina Katha, located near 100 Ft Road in Vasai West — a charming place that radiates authenticity, warmth, and love through its food. The owner personally guided us and recommended their signature Sukumalli Coffee, made with 12 healing herbs. It was aromatic, soothing, and perfect for the winter season — even helping with congestion and leaving a comforting warmth.
We ordered:
Thatte Podi Idli
Podi Benne Dosa
Masala Benne Dosa
Every dish was prepared in ghee, with a generous topping of fresh white makhan — not butter, but true makhan. The richness and purity of flavours were unmistakable. The dosas were soft, fragrant, and literally melted in the mouth, while the idli was incredibly light and fluffy.
The flavours stood beautifully on their own — the chutney and sambhar felt more like thoughtful accompaniments than essentials, because the dosa and idli themselves were enough for us to completely dive in and enjoy every bite.
We ended the meal with a piece of Mysore Pak, delicately sweet and perfectly balanced — a lovely conclusion to a soulful dining experience.
What made Dakshina Katha even more special was the warmth of its people. The owner personally checked in for feedback, speaking with genuine care and pride in his food — adding a personal touch that made the experience feel homely and heartfelt.
The day felt complete —
divine darshan, peaceful moments, pure food, and heartfelt hospitality — all on the very first day of the new year.
A truly blessed and blissful start to 2026
