Flavours with Finesse: A Chaat Indulgence at Desi Chaat, Box Street
Desi Chaat at Box Street redefines the street food experience with visually striking presentation and thoughtfully layered flavours. On our visit, we indulged in two signature offerings — the Dahi Katori Chaat and Chole Kulche — each plated with elegance and bursting with personality.
The Dahi Katori Chaat was nothing short of art on a plate. Crisp edible bowls held a lavish medley of creamy curd, sweet and tangy chutneys, fresh coriander, sev, and slivers of beetroot — every element thoughtfully assembled. The textures were enchanting: crunchy katoris, cool yoghurt, and the perfect crisp toppings. It wasn’t just a chaat; it was a refined composition of flavour and finesse.
Next came the Chole Kulche, presented on a bold black platter. The chole were rich, earthy, and topped with grated cheese and fresh coriander — warm, comforting, and deeply spiced. The kulche, lightly toasted and seasoned, added rustic charm, though they could have been a touch softer to truly melt in the mouth. A wedge of lemon and spicy pickle on the side completed the ensemble, enhancing both presentation and taste.
With its curated selection of street food favourites served with style, Desi Chaat at Box Street delivers more than a meal — it offers a moment of indulgence rooted in tradition and presented with a contemporary flair.
